I'm calling this fresh start because it has been such a long time since my last post that I decided my blog needed a make over. I think it fits well with all the changes in our lives in the last year. I really love to write so I am promising to update a couple times a week and make this more of a regular thing, not just an update for when I am so far behind on blogging. I am really trying to be more organized, crafty, more of a blogger, cook, better wife and soon a great mommy. Keeping this blog is going to be a start and will help keep track.
I don't even know where to begin since the last post. It's been an amazing year. Well, year and a half of marriage. Man time flies. To recap (I'll go into detail on some so don't worry!) we became home owners, added to the puppy family, I got a new job, Andy was promoted, we have a new nephew, and a baby Huth on the way :)
Some details on each. You all know about Madden. He's now one year old and he's our shy boy. And mean to his sister all the time. I love having dogs they are wonderful companions. Our two dogs are the world's best. I don't think they get any better. Maybe sometime down the road we will have more. But not for a long time. Our family is perfect (especially adding sweet pea). I think my family just let out a sigh of relieve reading no more dogs. They already tell me I am going to have some problems when the baby comes with these protective/jealous pups. Guess I better start working on that!
Our house was such a wonderful experience. We are so lucky how it all happened. We were nearing our lease end for our apartment and deciding if we wanted to stay there. We loved it but it was pricey. Of course we wanted a house but didn't think it was a possibility. We needed to pay off some debt and didn't really have much of a savings at the time. So in April I remember looking at different complexes and not really likeing any or knowing what to do. I decided to give our friend Carl who sold my parents and my grandma their houses a call just to see what the process was and what we would need. If anything we could start the process and sign like a 6 month lease and maybe be able to get a house by then. I am so glad I called him. A month later we were in our dream starter home. I love it. It was very move in ready, in Franklin Township, an area I really like but not too far from our family and its a great size for our growing family. It all happened in a month! And our mortgage is less than our rent was. We love our home and being home owners. I will dedicate a post soon to our house, pictures and projects.
After being let go at my previous employer and being devastated, God helped pick me up and I got a new job at CNO Financial in March. It's a great company and I hope to move up and grow professionally there. Not too long after moving into our house Andy got a promotion to a billing supervisor at his work. I was so proud of him. He's a really hard worker and is moving fast there. They love him!
We have a new nephew!!!! His name is Jordan and Shelby gave birth to him on September 6, 2012. He is gorgeous. Another one to spoil to death! DJ seems to do pretty well with him too. I love our growing family.
The most amazing miracle happened. August 13, 2012 I found out I was pregnant. We are so incredibly happy to be having a baby. I am 15 weeks this week and trying to get in full swing planning and organizing mood. It's hard without knowing the sex but only about a month until we find out. I know everyone says this but we seriously could care less what sex and just want a healthy Huth baby. Andy thinks it's a girl though because he said in the ultrasound picture it's so small. I try to tell him a boy or girl would be small now but he still thinks girl. I found out when I was 6 weeks and got to hear the heartbeat at 7 weeks for the first time. It was the most beautiful sound. I of course started crying. I will also dedicate a whole blog to baby Huth and how we told everyone and all that jazz. But basically I am loving being pregnant. I mean I am even more tired than usual and have back pains and frequent trips to the bathroom but I guess I am just so thrilled it doesn't seem to matter. I am dying for my belly to round out right now so instead of people just thinking I ate too much they can tell I am preggo! And I really want to start shopping for maternity clothes. I want to be a cute pregnant lady and not just a bum like I feel right now in between stages. It will all come!
So that's our year in a nutshell. It's been amazing and I wouldn't change a thing, not even the bad. I believe we are really growing as adults and a family although there is always room for improvement.
Ok so that's it for today. This week I will break down things more and add pictures to my posts. This is just a start for the new blog, wrapping up the last year so we can really get into detail each day from here on out. Everyone have a great week!
