Can you believe this weather? and traffic? All this week has been crazy. Jackson was supposed to have a wellness appointment and we were supposed to have a guy come look at our broken washer. Both were postponed because of the weather. Also, Jackson was supposed to start a new daycare this week but hasn't gone one day because they have been closed due to weather. So I have been home a lot with him this week. Not complaining though, because I love being home with him. It's just been a weird week.
Let's get back into catching up. We will finish with October tonight. First up, the October Citrus Lane box review. We really enjoyed this box.
October Citrus Lane Box Review
Rattle Roller from Green Tones
This might just look like an average wooden rattle and while it is, Jackson loves it. I like it because it's going back to the simple toy concept. Don't get me wrong, Jackson has tons of electronic toys but this is nice for a change. It is eco-friendly and makes lots of noise. It's a favorite for our house.
Dive Bath Appliques from Boon
Boon is a great company and we looooooove these bath toys. I told you this box was great. They are colorful and stick to the bath walls, keeping baby's attention for a long time. Jackson is always grabbing for them during his bath. The best part is the don't absorb water so they won't fall apart or get moldy.
Ez Grip Massaging Teether and Rattle from Innobaby
Even though Jackson cries and cries over teething, he has never been big into using teethers. Which is too bad because this one looks neat. It is lightweight and flexible making it easy for babies to handle. It has massagers on it to comfort gums. Even though Jackson doesn't use it for his teeth he enjoys holding it and playing with the rattle.
Little Yums from Plum Organics
We haven't tried these yet because Jackson is just getting into snacks. We will soon though and I am sure he will enjoy them. The insert says it is a dissolving wafer but a little different than normal wafers. It's made in Italy with unique ingredients like kale, apple, and spinach. It is perfect for teething and encouraging self-feeding.
Gripe Water from Mommy's Bliss
We know all about this product. We used gripe water a lot when Jackson was smaller and this brand specifically. It really helped with most of his tummy issues. This is a safe, all natural, herbal supplement that eases gas and stomach pains as well as hiccups and teething. After reading the insert I am going to start using this again for Jackson when he has teething pains.
Again, we loved that box. This weekend I will get my November review posted. So far I have really enjoyed our Citrus Lane boxes and look forward to receiving them every month. It is a surprise but also fun to try new products.
So in October we also got Jackson's 6 month/family pictures taken. They were outside and done by the same wonderful lady who took my maternity photos. Laudig Photography is great and I recommend her to everyone! This particular shoot was so much fun and had such a beautiful backdrop. I couldn't wait to get family pictures taken in the fall scenery. Jackson did really well, although he wasn't thrilled with us putting him in a pumpkin. Here are a few. You can see the whole album on my Facebook page.
I love how they turned out. Christy did a great job. I can't wait until Jackson's next photo shoot with her for his 1 year pictures!
We ended My favorite monthly with my favorite holiday, Halloween. Jackson of course had two costumes. It worked out perfectly though because one he wore for pictures and ZooBoo, which was the elephant, and one for actual Halloween night, Tigger.
His elephant costume picture is in the family picture section. Here is his Tigger costume.
Halloween/trick or treating was a little weird. Halloween was during the week and trick or treating Friday. But it worked out perfectly because I love to pass out candy. So on actual Halloween we got Jackson dressed up and went to visit the grandparents so they could see him on his first Halloween. And spoil him :) On Friday, the trick or treating night, we got to stay home and pass out candy. All the kids loved Jackson and he was equally excited every time the doorbell rang. Especially the time it was his babysitter Nacole and her kids.
So that was October. It was a fun month and Jackson's first start into the holidays. From then on it just got more busy with fun events and new things. I will update on November this weekend. Hope everybody has a great Friday. I leave you with a couple more Halloween pictures.
