I know this is not new, but I am new to the game and wanted to talk about Essential Oils. a little while ago I had heard a lot about oils and the different uses, especially from my sister. So when I saw on my favorite blogger's site that she had a link for Young Living, signing up as a "distributor" under her and getting the starter kit at a discount, I did it. I am glad I did. I have really enjoyed my oils and using them for different things. Plus, just diffusing them smells so good and is way better than candles. Although I still love a good candle. :)
I wanted to share some of my favorite blends and things I have made with oils.
So I ordered some amber roller ball vials and spray bottles on Amazon to make some things I had read about. I am so happy with everything I've made and I really need to dive into more. But the roller that is the biggest necessity for me is my headache roller.
Headache Roller:
10 drops of peppermint oil
6 drops of lavender oil
5 drops of frankincense oil
the rest coconut oil
This mix needs a carrier oil so that it doesn't irritate the skin, which is why i use the coconut oil. I used a dropper and put all of these in the roller ball vial and gave it a good shake! I use this a lot because of my migraines and I do still take medicine when needed but I really like my headache roller. The peppermint helps numb the pain and the lavender helps soothe.
We use a thieves roller on Jackson every night for wellness.it is supposed to help with fighting sickness and just helps your overall wellness. And honestly Jackson has not been sick in a long time!! Knock on wood. I swear by it.
Thieves Roller:
10 drops of thieves oil
the rest coconut oil
My favorite spray I have made is a bed lavender spray. Lavender helps you relax and I feel like I get a better sleep when I use it. We spray it on Jackson's pillow and bed to help him sleep through the night and get a good night sleep.
Lavender Bed Spray:
10 ML witch hazel
10-15 drops lavender oil
5 drops frankincense oil
3 OZ water
And then when it comes to diffusing, really anything is good. I like to play around with different ones and mix things. Some times it turns out really good. Here are a few I have found that I love:
Holiday Hustle:
thieves oil
lemon oil
RC oil
Seasons Changing:
Lemon oil
Lavender oil
Peppermint oil
Breathe Easy:
Lemon oil
RC oil
Orange oil and Thieves
Really anything with orange or lavender. And as far is how many drops you use, just play around with it until it's as strong as you want it. I have bought some oils from Walmart as well. I like them. They are cheaper but also maybe a little more diluted. Still good to have as extras though. If you are interested in anything let me know!!!
OH! and I have this really awesome shelf for oils my grandpa made. He's the best. And it's nice to see everything. I feel like we use them more now that they are displayed.
Have a great weekend! And if you have any different recipes let me know. I love to try new things with oils!
